The Maruzza Foundation has provided specialised paediatric palliative care training opportunities for over 4,000 healthcare workers at both a national and international level. In 2019, as part of its campaign for improved global access to pediatric palliative care, the Foundation has joined forces with the devisors of the EPEC Pediatrics Curriculum to offer the cutting edge ‘Advanced Pain And Palliative Care Workshop’ for the first time in Europe. The goal of this project is to enhance both the access and quality of Pediatric Palliative Care by making this comprehensive training program available to as many children’s palliative care providers as possible from throughout the European region, the Mediterranean basin and neighboring territories. To this end the organizers have committed to offer the workshop for reduced rates for participants from low and middle-income countries (LMIC)
EPEC-Pediatrics features state-of-the-art knowledge in pain treatment, symptom management and training in the skills required to address key domains in Pediatric Palliative Care. The program is designed to give pediatric healthcare professionals (incl. physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, psychologists etc.) the knowledge and skills needed to provide excellent palliative care to their patients and their families.
